Original Organ Returned to Church.
Original St Josephs Statue Rededicated
Original Church Organ Returns to St Joseph’s
The original organ used for decades in the old St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on Albany Street in West Tampa, has now been returned to the church. The late Mrs. Jennie LoCicero – former Organist, donated this beautiful antique organ back to St. Joseph’s Church in May of 2005.
In 1964, the old church was demolished and the organ was moved into the new church on Cherry Street, until the new pipe organ could be completed. In 1974, when the pipe organ was finished, then-Pastor Father John Shiminsky gave the original organ to Mrs. LoCicero, in appreciation for her many years of dedicated service as Organist.
Mrs. LoCicero kept the organ in her home all these years and wanted to see it brought back to the church. This organ is another piece of history returned to St Joseph’s Church.
Historic St Joseph Statue Returns to the Church
Also returned to the church in the year 2005 – the original Statue of St Joseph from the old church – over 100 years old – was returned to the church by the Madiedo Family. This is an extraordinary beautiful statue and we are so happy to have this returned.
